About Savannah
Downtown Savannah is a small area. Everything is within easy walking distance. You need transportation if you go to Fort Jackson or Tybee Island. Out of town activities include a visit to Tybee Lighthouse, a dolphin cruise, an ecology saltmarsh cruise, a marsh walk, or a beach walk.
A delightful day trip from Savannah is to Okefenokee Swamp. Some schools spend a night or two on Jekyll Island or St. Simon's Island, and combine a tour of the Golden Isles with an Okefenokee trip.
